Comenity Bank Store Credit Cards
Comenity bank store credit cards are currently heavily sought after due to something called the “shopping cart trick“, which allows people to get approved for the store cards without actually doing a hard pull or going through a traditional credit check. This is especially great for people with little or bad credit, and it means that anyone can get a comenity bank card without having a hard pull on their credit score (which will lower it).
Finding a list of store cards offered by comenity bank is hard because they are always being updated, and some stores stop using their cards in due time. Because of this, I have decided to compile a list of which store cards are still active as of July of 2017.
Comenity Bank Store Credit Cards List
The following links will point to stores that are currently offering a card through comenity bank. These can be used with the shopping cart trick to get instantly approved without a hard pull:
Abercrombie & Fitch
Bath & Body Works
King Size Direct
New York & Company
One Stop Plus
Overstock (Be careful with your social on this one! Only enter last 4!)
Remember that if an approval popup asks for your full social, don’t do it! Asking for a full social usually results in a hard pull.
Using Comenity Bank Cards to Boost Credit
Chances are, you found this page after learning that getting Comenity Bank store credit cards can boost your credit. If you’re like I was in the past, your credit score is low and you’re looking for ways to increase your score. Luckily for you, getting a few of these cards can really help add some points to your score. Here’s how:
One of the biggest factors in having a good credit score is how many accounts you have open.
It sounds crazy, but the more accounts you have, the higher your credit score will be. Having multiple accounts shows that people trust you with money, and that in turn boosts your score. Now I know you’re asking yourself, “if it was that easy, why can’t I just open a bunch of credit cards and have a great score??” – which leads me to the second reason why having cards through comenity bank can increase your score….
You can obtain store cards issued through comenity bank without a hard pull on your credit.
Opening a new account, whether it be a credit card, a store card, or an auto loan, requires your credit to be pulled in order to get an approval. If you open multiple cards, chances are your credit will be checked multiple times. In the long run, your score will bounce back and be higher than it was before, but in the mean time, you are left with a bunch of hard inquiries on your credit which docks your score a few points each time an inquiry is ran.
Why I love Comenity Bank Store Credit Cards
Comenity cards are special, because you can actually get approved for them without having your credit pulled at all! This method is called the shopping cart trick, and I highly recommend you checking it out by going to the main page on this website and reading my free guide. It’s as good as it gets – you can obtain as many cards as you want and you never need to have your credit checked. This also means if you have bad credit, you can still get approved without ever having your score checked.
Things to Consider
Remember that Comenity Bank store credit cards are not actual visa or mastercards. They will still help boost your score, but they will not be able to be used at any other store other than the one specified. I highly suggest getting a credit card, either secured or unsecured, through your bank and start using it right away. Certain cards through comenity will only report to one bureau, while most other bank cards report to all three major bureaus: Experian, Transunion, and Equifax.
Closing cards due to inactivity
Also, people tend to ask me if they have to use the card in order to keep it. Although comenity bank can (and sometimes does) close cards due to non-use, they rarely do so. You typically do not have to use a card in order to keep the available credit. I have the Victoria’s Secret card, the Brylane card, the Gamestop, Total Visa, and more in my collection, and I hardly use any of them unless I am making a purchase that will give me a discount if I use the card.
My credit score has still skyrocketed in the meantime, which is great. It’s been over a year since I started this website and my journey into getting a better credit score, and I have still not had a card closed down by comenity bank. So make of it what you will. If you check online, mainly on the MyFico Forums, you will find that some other people have had their cards closed down after a period of inactivity.
Instant Approval Cards
If you’re looking for a card that gives you a higher limit and also guarantees your approval, I suggest the Horizon Gold Card due to the fact that they are super lenient about who they give a card to. I have never seen anyone not be able to get that card. True, it doesn’t give you cash back rewards or travel points, but when you are struggling to build up your credit and get a better score, it really is a great option to keep in mind. I’ve had my Horizon card for quite a while and I still use it a lot.
Hopefully this list of comenity bank store credit cards can help you get approved for some credit. I also suggest reading my full guide on the shopping cart trick here. Best of luck!
